INGLEMOOR HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT STUDENT CONDUCT GUIDE

1 PHYSICAL EXAMINATION:

*** A physical examination is recommended of all students. A waiver
must be filled out by the student's parents if they wish to forego this
recommendation. This must be
done by the second Friday of the
trimester.

2. THE P.E. UNIFORM:

consists of athletic shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes and socks.

The appropriate uniform for P.E. is consistent with the I.H.S. dress code: the display of
obscene, sexual, drug, alcohol, or gang related messages is NOT allowed.

Warmer clothing (sweats) is encouraged in colder weather. Coats and hats may only
be worn with the teacher's permission.

3. THE GYM:

NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE GYM OR ANY OF ITS SURROUNDING FACILITIES
NO STREET SHOES IN THE GYM, WEIGHT ROOM OR DANCE ROOM; (shoes must have
non-scuffing rubber soles).

The path of traffic to and from classes, etc. should be
-to class: gym foyer, to locker room, use back stairs from locker to enter gym.
-after class: to locker room from class, return up front stairs, though foyer.

4. THE LOCKER ROOM:

Students are required to stay in the locker room until the dismissal bell rings.
Be sure your locker is locked during and after your P.E. class.
Close your lock and
spin the dial to be sure it is locked. If you give your combination to other students,
you are increasing your risk of theft.

Long lockers are used during you class time only. All items left in the long lockers will
be moved to lost and found. The long locker that you use is used by other students
throughout the day. (excluding athletic long lockers.)

Do not bring large sums of money or highly valuable items to school. If it is auavoidable,
it is suggested that you have your instructor lock it up for you. Report all thefts to the
teacher in you locker room and a report may be filed.

If you find a lock, please return it to the P.E. office.

5. ATTENDANCE:

Attendance will be taken 5 minutes after the last bell has rung. Students arriving
after this time are considered tardy.

A parent's note is needed if a student is to be excused from participation because of
illness or injury. A medical excuse is required for more than two days of
non-participation due to illness or injury.

6. SAFETY:

Students are to be familiar with the safety rules in each activity area before
participating. Students may NOT participate in any activity or use any apparatus
until the teacher is present; this includes climbing on bleachers, pipes and any part
of the school building.

If you are injured in a P.E. class, inform the instuctor immediately, so that the injury
can be attended to in a timely fashion and appropriate action can be taken.

Do not bring personal equipment to class unless you have cleared it with your
instructor.

Only prearranged visitations will be accepted. "Drop-ins" from lunch or other classes
will NOT be permitted.

7. BEHAVIOR:

Respect -
1) to feel or show honor or esteem for.
2) to show consideration for; avoid intruding upon

For a student to be successful in P.E. his/her behavior should include being respectful
to teachers, facilities, equipment, other students, and themself.
