Quarterly's CQ Researcher, UMI's ProQuest
and eLibrary, Gale Virtual Reference
Library, CultureGrams and World
Book Advanced.
-
-
- SIRS Knowledge Source provides thousands
of full-text articles on social, scientific, health, historic, business,
economic, political and global issues. Articles are carefully selected
from approximately 1500 newspapers, magazines, journals and government
publications. This excellent resource also provides links to Internet
resources which have been selected for quality. Graphics, including
photos, charts, maps, diagrams and drawings, are available for many
of the articles. In addition, SIRS offers the top news stories of the
day, frequently updated by Reuters News Service, detailed maps in an
online reference almanac, access to World Book Encyclopedia articles,
and a new section which focuses on Model United Nations.
-
-
- ProQuest Direct indexes a wide range of magazines, journals,
and newspapers and generally provides the articles in "full-text"
so they can be read and/or printed in entirety.
- Hundreds of well-known magazines are indexed, ranging from the
most popular main-stream news magazines to specialty journals focusing
on business, science, health, or the arts.
- Selected newspapers include respected international newspapers
(in English) and a variety of U.S. newspapers, including Seattle
Times and Seattle Post Intelligencer. ProQuest maintains
up-to-date coverage, with no more than a twenty-four hour delay
for newspaper articles.
-
- eLibrary indexes a wide range of magazines, journals,
newspapers, and TV/radio transcripts and generally provides the articles
in "full-text" so they can be read and/or printed in entirety.

news magazines to specialty journals focusing on business, science,
health, or the arts. Also available are articles from BBC Monitoring,
which focuses on media coverage and reactions to current issues
in various regions of the world.
- Selected newspapers include several international newspapers (in
English) and many respected U.S. newspapers, including Seattle
Post Intelligence, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, and
Wall Street Journal.
- A reference section includes access to Britannica Intermediate
Encyclopedia, Hutchinson Encyclopedia, The World Almanac, CIA World
Factbook, Maps.com, and numerous DK Eyewitness Guides
on scientific, historical, and literary topics.

networks (ABC, CBS, CNN) and NPR (National Public Radio), including
interview programs, such as Face the Nation, Talk of the
Nation, and Fresh Air, and investigative reports, such
as 60 Minutes, 20/20, and 48 Hours.
- the Section on Books includes resources on topics ranging from
history, international politics, medicine, literature and careers,
to movies and cooking. This is a great source for travel information
with many Frommer's Guides and Passport Guides provided
full text.
-
- The CQ Researcher celebrated its 75th anniversary last
year! A publication of the respected Congressional Quarterly, CQ
